Southdown East Mini ODE Team results

Click here for the schedule for the 2009 mini champs. I would like to think as many of you are interested in taking part as possible and so we all have an enjoyable team day out as usual. (Hopefully we can persuade Simon Jones Parry to put up our gazebo again and have a great team spirit at the champs).

Please read the rules carefully, particularly taking attention to the children must be 12years and under and ponies must be 14.2hh and under. Also check the rules regarding British Dressage, BSJA winnings and BE winnings to make sure the combination is allowed to take part.

I would love to host some teams for the dressage, even if some are the younger members as this is often where their competition life begins and they can be part of the day.

The show jumping is clearly a 2'3" round in the first round and can go up to 2'9" in the second round, but this depends on the course builder. Generally go up to 2'6", but they fo have a couple of tricky fences and also some parallels and some uprights. Remember they can build a fence 2'6" high and 2'6" wide.

Eventing you will have needed to have competed at Level 2 before to give yourself a chance. The course is not a bad course, but long and hilly and does have a water at the end.

Southdown East ODE on Saturday June 20th

Well done to our Mini team that competed at the Southdown East ODE on Saturday June 20th, it was a really tough course with over 1/2 the teams entered getting eliminated so we should be very proud of ourselves.

Special mention for Charlotte O'Regan who received a sportsmanship award for stopping on the course to help a rider in trouble, what an ambassador for our club, well done Charlotte.

23rd May 2009 Craven Hunt Pony Club Team & Individual Show Jumping

A team of mini show jumpers and a number of individual members competed on behalf of Garth South Pony Club at the Craven Hunt Pony Club Team and Individual Show Jumping Competition at Newbury Showground on 23rd May.

The team comprising Hannah Young, Charlotte Cruickshanks, Jasmin Gill and Poppy Dillon rode well but unfortunately were unplaced although Poppy Dillon did a lovely double clear,

There were some notable successes in the individual classes too;

Hannah Young and Rebecca Borksoc who went double clear

Lucy Blain came 1st in the 65cm

Charlotte Rampton came 5th in 75cm

Rachael Cruickshanks came 1st in the 85 cm individual classes .

Well done to all who took part and good luck for the rest of the season.

South Berks team show jumping results

Just a few words of congratulations to all those who took part in the South BerksTeam Show Jumping competition on Sunday 10th May 2009 at Bradfield. I was pleased with all the team support for each other and help from all the parents. We had some new members who gave this a go for the first time, and galantly came out for the day and supported garth south. I was really proud of you all particularly since the hosting pony club strategically placed a spooky rainbow filler at the edge of the arena which appeared to cause many problems throughout the day.
